What was your best experience during your year as a titleholder?
I don't know that I can pinpoint one favorite "event". I think being in my home state at Miss USA was the biggest thrill. It was such a feeling of overwhelming support every time I stepped on the stage. It's a truly humbling experience to think you are representing all those people...you try so hard just to be all you had hoped you would be. I also really enjoyed being able to do special things for people through the connections I made. For example, I was able to get a suite at a Royals game for a patient of mine who had just had a heart transplant (thanks to Winship Travel). I also arranged a phone call from a few of the Chief's players at training camp to a teenage girl in her hospital bed. She had lost her leg in a car accident. The call really boosted her spirits for the afternoon.

The best part is, that sort of thing keeps going on long after the year is over. The "Vanbros Family Experience" is priceless as well.
