Shae Smith is a graduate from Bolivar High School and will be attending the University of Missouri where she will major in Biological Sciences with the aspiration to become a Dermatologist. Highly involved in her community, she is a National Honor Society member, MO Prudential Spirit of Community Award recipient, Presidential Volunteer Service Award winner, Youth Philanthropist of the Year recipient and played four years of varsity softball.
Dance is also a big part of Shae’s life as she has competitively competed since the age of seven. She will continue her love of dance in the fall as a member of the Golden Girl’s dance team at the University of Missouri.
Shae is an advocate for children’s charities in an effort to provide #TheGiftOfAMiracle to children in need. Having undergone Anterior Scoliosis Correction Surgery at the age of fifteen, she spends her time advocating for scoliosis awareness and encouraging young women to triumph after challenges. To date, she has created an educational website, obtained a Missouri state proclamation, organized a fashion show, authored her own children’s book and raised over $48,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
